the species
Alright so we would all like to think we know everything...at least I would like to think that I did myself. However because we dont actually have all the knowledge in the world I am going to help you out. What am I talking about? Well our three main species running around the booming city of Seattle. Yes thats right our boring humans, thirsty vampys, and our wet dog werewolves. If you would like to suggest any additions to these three species take it up with an admin. Otherwise please read and familiarize yourself with these great creatures!
werewolves

Werewolf by definition is a human formed been that is taken over by a mystical if no physical power and is transformed/shifted into the form of a large wolf like beast. Every werewolf wears his 'wolf form' differently some of them walk upright and have long thick coats while others are nearly naked and walk on four legs. Just as an individual looks different every Werewolf also looks different. It is often very hard to tell a werewolf by just first glance because they appear to just be a normal human. However for the trained eye one will notice that when triggered with a high emotional feeling their eyes tend to flash a bright yellow, this usually is only temporary but can be a good giveaway. If you are able to come in close contact with a werewolf you will also notice that their body temperature is well above the average running around 110 degrees. A nearly lethal fever for a normal human been. Werewolves are extremely powerful both in their human and wolf form. They are able to move quickly and with age and practice can have large amounts of grace and stealth.
Werewolves are a pack creature, they are usually always seen with another brother or at least in their own territory it is rare to see lone or rogue werewolves. However it is completely possible just not truly embraced in the species. Brotherhood is very important, and they are extremely loyal. Once you have earned the trust and love of a Werewolf it is rare that you loose it. Most of the time this species is governed by there strong emotions and feelings for others and their pack. When it comes to mating werewolves are not promised to a single individual it is not rare for a female to mate with many different males, however most prefer to find a single mate for life. This is of course required of the alpha pair in the pack.
In order to be changed into a werewolf you must be bitten, the only exception to this rule is if you are born of two werewolf parents however you must be bitten when reaching adulthood to fully be able to shift. When bitten it takes for the next full moon to actually make your first shift. This is usually a very traumatizing experience and it is suggested that new werewolves be around elders. It is literally the breaking of bones and tearing of flesh. The human form must mutilate itself to form the wolf. Once shifted a new wolf has no real understanding of its abilities or body so they tend to be clumsy and confused. The need to hunt becomes unbearable and it is rare that one is able to resist the urge. One of the greatest strength a Werewolf has is the ability to communicate with its pack. Once bonded (a old ritual performed every full moon) a werewolf is able to hear his pack mates thoughts and speak through there mind much like telepathy. They are able to do this in both human and wolf form however it is stronger in wolf. The greatest weakness a werewolf has is to silver and wolfsbane. Silver in the blood stream will kill a Werewolf if not treated. This also slows there healing ability to that of a human.

vampires

Vampires have long walked the earth due to their immortal curse...or gift perhaps. Vampires by definition are human bodies that have been reanimated by a evil spirit that resembles the former spirit. However because it was unable to transfer over into eternity it was warped into a blood thirsty beast walking the earth seeking havoc on all its occupants. Of course Vampires are not mindless brutes some of them often have reformed their ways and become great assets to the community as a whole, however it is rare to see a 'good' vampire. Age is a large part of a vampires strength, the longer they have walked this earth as is equivalent to their power. The older a vampire the stronger and more cunning they are, they are in great control of themselves at a more mature age as well being able to go without blood for weeks if not months on end if needed.
There is usually only one way to change a human into a vampire. Of course there is always the rebirth through witchcraft when a evil spirit is called back from the grave but this is very rare. Usually a vampire is created by the complete draining of their human body of blood. Once drained the corpse must then be fed another vampires blood to cause them to begin the change. Transition is very painful for a vampire and feels much like a fever at all times. There blood pressure spikes causing there heart to over work until it finally falls silent, their lungs compress until they shrivel up and last but not least they slowly begin to develop the animal like abilities, such as great speed, smell and sight. Fangs are usually the last thing to develop on a young vampire but it is when the fangs appear that a vampire is very dangerous because they must then feed to complete the transition otherwise they die. In order to kill a vampire there are several techniques. Staking and decapitation are the most successful. Vampires unlike most folklore are about to be seen in the daylight. They are affected by the loss of energy and they are very sensitve to light, its not odd to see them fully clothed with not much skin showing because to much UV can send them into a fever.
In appearance vampires are often very akin to humans, other then the fact that they tend to have a very pale complexion and are not highly social. Tending to keep more to themselves and their own species they do not enjoy large amounts of human interaction. They are established in the government however and do help run things in the city and even higher up. When it comes to 'powers' vampires have a strong compulsion strength over others, this applies to werewolves as well. This becomes stronger with age (most newborns do not have the power or control) This ability affects humans the strongest it is not a 'mind control' rather it is the ability to imprint ones desires or thoughts/needs on another. The best connection is through eye contact when the Vampire speaks soothingly to its victim, in the most extreme cases a elder vampire can get its victim to self mutilate if not kill themselves with this power. Additionally Vampires are in some way spiritually connected with their creator. This is usually in the eldest best interest but it can also become troubling because they are able to locate each other easily and usually have some form of emotional involvement (lust, friendship, brothers ect).

humans
Humans populate and claim the dominance species over earth. They are also the largest population in Seattle. The numbers of humans compared to Werewolves and Vampires is extravagant. Which of course makes them a good food source to the supernatural community. Most humans are completely naive to the supernatural world that exists among them. And of course when accidentally involved a human usually makes it to the dinner table or they are changed over. Humans are a intelligent species and so they are quick to adapt to anything strange in the environment and there are always those that have been 'enlightened' that choose to support one of the two sides. When a human chooses to support the Werewolves they usually tend to be embraced by the Were community and are put to work right away. However when a human chooses to associate with the Vampires it is usually in hopes of becoming one, they are often used for blood and other such...needs. Humans are truly the weakest in this balancing system but they are smart and capable of defending themselves if they are aware of the situation at hand.
+Hunters: Men and women who have devoted their life to killing the supernatural creatures running around earth. They have no special ability other then those they have trained into themselves. Hunters are also usually trained by their family and have expansive knowledge on the lore of each species. They are always around when odd activities are afoot.
+Heart Kin: A human who supports the Werewolves. They are welcome among the pack, usually used as foot soldiers and to infiltrate the enemies structures. Were's take exceptional care of their Heart Kin, and usually allow them sanction in the packs mansion and support them in anyway possible. It is not rare to see mates form between the Werewolf community and the Heart Kins.
+Red Face: A Human who supports the Vampires. The Vampires gave the nickname to their human servants when they noticed the flush in their cheeks and it has stuck ever since. Red Face's are often used to feed from and to control governmental sanctions. They are usually very financially stable because of their mortal support.
